(Received Feb. 25, at 1.5 a.m.) A report which ha.- been prepared Indie United Clerks' Union static that Ih'e vest body of otlice workers who come under the deiiniiio:i of "clerk" are subject lo conditions of nb-ohite sweating, which are rapidly becoming worse. It also states that the clerks do not receive sufficient to maintain themselves independently in a single condition in life, letalone maintain a household. The report admits that in many instances the employers are not more to blame than the clerks, who, under pressure of competition, permit themselves to be ground down as regards pay and overtime.
