The directors' report, to be presented at the annual meeting of the Taranaki Oil and Freehold Company, states that the bore is now down 885 ft, of which 740 ft went through very hard rock in difficult 'strata. The staff is now reaming the bore out to 14in from 449 ft downwards, The encouraging show of oil met with is improving steadily as tho boring is proceeded with. The directors see their way to continue, work for another, year, but hope to get oil before that time expires.
