AUCKLAND, November 26. i At the Supreme Court to-day a young man named Reginald William Service was arraigned upon it';'charge of having indecently assaulted a little girl on October, 11, and also upon two further counts, of • : having attempted to commit offences of |, ! a. more, serious nature. The iuiy, after a short retirement, found the. • prisoner - guilty on all counts. His Honor < remanded him for sentence. Three', men- ! named Alfred Jenkins, Frank Fox, and, Frank Stephen Blackwood, 6tewai'd6 from the s.s. Athenic, pleaded "Not guilty" to a. charge of having assaulted an elderly . man named Kyngdon so as to cause actual bodily harm. It appeared from the evidence given for the prosecution that the three accused came ashore on the afternoon of October 26,. and started drinking. In making their way 'back to the wharf they were inclined to be hilarious,, and it was alleged that they had deliberately bumped into Kyngdon as,he approached from the opposite direction, knocking him down and causing a hip bone to be fractured. ' The defenco was that- the. bumping was accidental. The jury' returned with a verdict of " Guilty," but with 6trong recommendation to mercy. Thv' accused wore-remanded for sentence till next Wednesday. ; . WELLINGTON, November^6. At tlie Supreme Court, to-day T?rank i Carr, charged on several coilnts with stealing cattle, was found' not guilty, CHRISTCHITRCH, November 26. At the Supreme Court to-day 'in Divorce, decrees nisi were granted in the following cases:—Ellen Davidson Dunn v. William James Drain, desertion; Elizabeth Malarkey v. Francis Malarkey, desertion; Thomas Bowk v. Eliza Bowis, adultery with George Hand (costs against both respondent and co-respondent); George Wallace Jolly v. Isabella Jolly, adultery with a man named Ogle (costs against Ogle); Thomas Horton v. Annie Horton, adultery with' Daniel Dome (an order was made for the custody of tlie child, and costs against the co-respon-dent).
