The present school building, was old and decayed, and the committers, 'recommendation, therefore, was that application be made for a grant wherewith to erect a. new school in Hillend district on a site about a mile and a-half from,the present site, in the direction of the newer settlement. The recommendation of, the committeo was adopted.;, r GENERAL. Mr Mackenzie drew attention to tho state of the old school building at Berwick, which; was. he said, fast falling into a state of decay and ruin, and it was resolved that _ the Works Committee bo instructed to inquire into the matter and report. , It was furtherresolved, on MiMackenzie's suggestion; that the rent of the glebe go to the teacher. My Scott gave notice of his intention to niove the following ; motion With a view to the proper upkeep of tho, buildings and grounds of the new Training College and Normal School, and also to encourage residents to take tin interst in the institution, the board deems it desirable to have a school .committee appointed, and hereby agrees, to tho appointment of the' 6aid oonjmittee." On the motion of Mr Snow, it was resolved that an additional detached infant room bo added .to.the Musselburgh School. It'was resolved, on Mr Frascr'6 motion, that room and a bathroom be added to the Anderson's Bay residence, and that tlie washing and outhouses be renovated, and the fences repaired; the architect to report on plan and cost. • The architect was instructed to inquire and report on a proposal to dispose of the old school site and buildings at Adam's Flat. , Accounts amounting to £10,654 18s 3d were passed fol' "payment.
