NEW CATHOLIC CHURCH.
CEREMONIAL OPENING. (Pr.?, Umted PnESS Association.) WELLINGTON, November 22. The new Church of St. Gerard for the Redcinptorist- Fathers was opened _t,his morning by Archbishop Redwood, assisted by the Bishop of Christchurch, who sang a' Pontifical High Mass, Archbishop Redwood preaching the .sermon to a very large a'nd representative gathering. The Bishops of Auckland and Dunedin were represented. The church cost £6000, of, which £4100 is already in hand,-the dona-: tioas this morning totalling £370.
