Li the final for the Doubles Championship Brookes and Wilding defcated"Alexander and Wright, 6-3, 6—2, 4-6, 6—2: •November' 22. (Received Nov. 22, at 4.25 p.m.) Owing- to rain the play in the championships was delayed till the afternoon. The courts were slippery. The interest in the Doubles match drew, a large attendance. Early in the play it became apparent that the Americans were suffering from the muggy heat. I '' A succession of-fmilts gave the Australians a good lead, and tliey gained the first three games. and Wilding both played brilliantly- throughout, working together like clockwork. ! The third s6t was 'exciting. The Americans played beautiful tennis, their volleying especially being brilliant.
In the final eet the Australians had all own way, 'and won the championship amid great cheering.
