Harcoiirt announced that- orders (or £600,000 worth of torpedo destroyers had been pieced -with the Clyde shipbuilding yards, and (lie Admiralty was now adding £900,000 worth of ships. The Spectator strongly protests that the Liberal journals whittle away MrAsquith's declaration with reference to the navy by pretending that the fleets of the United States and' Japan nee:l not be considered. INQUIRY ASKED FOR. LONDON, November 21, (Received' Nov. 22. at 4 p.m. At, a meeting of the Imperial Maritime League, Loi'd Amptlvill presiding, a resolution, proposed by Sir John Colomb, and seconded by Admiral Leave, was adopted urging a Government inquiry into the scope and effect of t'no recent changes in the navy, with a view to the country being informed with regard to the naval policy.
