COMPENSATION COURT.
TWO HEAVY CLAIMS. (Per Uxited Press Association.) CIIRISTCHURCH, October 28. A Compensation Court, consisting of Mr Justice Denniston and Mr Hugo Friedlander (representing the claimants) and Mr M'Kcrrow (representing the Public Works Department), will sit in this city on November 4 to deal with the claim of the owners (Messrs R-. M. MacDonald, D. MacFarlane, and F. A. Archer) in respect to the site in Cathedral square taken by the Public Works Department for the purpose of a site for ollices for several Government departments. Tho owners claim £26,300, whilst tho department is understood to • have offered £16,000. On November 4 the same court will consider the case Clegg v. the Minister of Public Works, a claim for £7450 in respect to the site required by the department for the purposes of a branch post ollice at the corner of High and Tuaiu streets.
