FIRST CHURCH YOUNG WOMEN'S CLUB.

On Monday evening flui Fhsl Cimreli Vomi-s- Women'.; Club brought its session In a. close willi a. very successful social in the Burns Hall. There were about 150 iiinmlxrs and frisnrls present, Miss Snlliv;n (lion. secretary) submitted the follo-.v-iutf report:— This, Hie filth, year of the club has been no less successful ilian its predecessors. The roil comprises- about UO members. The m;ctings held during the year have included two Shakespeare evenings, a Dickens evening, a ];m1: review, a debate, a- magazine evening, and— perhaps most interesting of all—an address upon her work by Sister Lintln. A ''licnind night" tor the benefit of the Orphanage proved so successful that it was decided to make it a permanent institution of ihe club. A new departure was made this year by organising classes for singing and physical culture, under Jlt Timson and Miss lfanna respectively—the former with a membership of 27, and th« iatier v.'itli 43. Both classes did good work, and tho thanks of the club and of the members are due to the instructors for their painstaking efforts. Special thanks are also tendered to Mrs Shand for liev invaluable assistance in connection with the physical culture class.
