TRENTHAM RIFLE MEETING.

ADDITIONAL ATTRACTIONS. (Per United Press Association.) WELLINGTON, October 27. The Executive Committee of the New Zealand Defence Forces Ritle Association lias decided to make the next championship meeting a 10-days fixture, starting oil Thursday, March 4, and' coiuiluding on the following Saturday week, March 13. The "King's," ov final.stage of the championship, will'be held on the last <lav of the meeting. It was agreed that in the matches counting for the championship three-range contests should bo abolished, two-range matches taking their place in all instances., An increase was decidod upon in regard to the number of prizes given' in various matches. In every match counting for the championship there will be 20 life prizes added in addition to the prizes a,s allocated at previous meetings. This means that in each of-the five contests counting for the championship tboro will he 100 prizes, 30 of which frill bo for tyros. Anoth;r innovation wfifcli will be welcomed by marksmen is tho decision arrived at to present each of the 25 liighest grand aggregate scorers in the championship eeries with an ami badge on the lin;s of those granted at Bisley. In the service matches new features wi'l be introduced, including siiap-shcotirg, rapid firing, loophole cover firing, ordinary cover tiring, and attack, practice. There will be a series of six team matches, including tho usual champion company teams' match. The teams will, be r«lurad to six men each, with the exception of the champion match, which will have live Wn as before. There will be .only one entry fee for all these matches, and there will be an aggregate prize for tho highest scorer in addition to the ordinary prize lists. This change has been introduced in. Order to get the men'to take part in every inatcli. In regard to sights, it was dccided that any sight considered, serviceable ami which can be attached to a rifle by a movement of the hinge-pin only will be permitted. ' This means that the M'Callv sight will he allowed. A learn will be sent lo Sydney to compete in the Empire match next year, and the selection will be made on tho form ahotrn at the championship contest. The team will ibo selected immediately the meeting concludcs.
