At the Arbitration Court to-day the Auckland Electric Trarmvays Company (Ltd.) wk proceeded arjainst- bv the 1 Labour Department- for an alleged 'breach of award. The complaint nrcss from the fact that on Christmas Day cars had been Kent out and thou sent in again owing to rain coming on. The men wore only paid for the work done, and not for the work which they had prepared to do. Jlt Tole, for the Labour Department, said the trouble had arisen through the company rofusiixg to pay regular men in the service for less than 18 hours as a week's work when the men were ready ar.d willing to work.
