'Hudson (Itoyal Oak Lodge). Iho Lily of tlie Valloy Lodge hekl its fortnightly meeting op ovening, when there was a fair attendance of members present, tlno candidate was initiated. A biother was granted Ins clearanco owing to his removal to Chris'clmreh. Visitors present were P.D.G.P. Bro. lir.va.nt, P.A.'s Bras. Robertson and, Hawkins, and Bro. Bell (Otago Lodge). The usual toasts were honoured and responded to. 1 The Bay Lodge met 011 Tuesdav evening, when A.D. Bro. J. P. Wliitty was greeted by a good attendances of members. The secretary was instructed to convey a letter , of sympathy to a brother owing to a. family bereavement. The sub-committeo reported that everything pointed to a ,successful gathering cti next ledge night, wlien a,n open ovening" lo eslebrate the anniversary of UlO lodge would be held. Invitations had been sent, to the various lodges inviting their, members and friends, and the residents of the district would bo heaVtily welcomed. During the evening a Dutch auction was held, and as the proceeds were to be devoted to the hall fund, a splendid result was obtained, apart from tho amusement denied from tho excitement of the auction. The Hall Committee reported that evc-rvfhing was progressing favourably towards the scheme for obtaining a meeting room. The quarterly meeting of the Otago Lodge was largely attonded, A.D. Bro, M Kcnzie presiding. After a large, amount of business had been transacted, the lodge went. into harmony, several brothers contributing to the evening's enjoyment, chief amongst whom was P.A. Bro. Blair, a worthy exponent of Harry Lauder. D.P. Bro. .Tacobson paid an official visit, ajid ' was welcomed with musical lionom It • was decided to hold a card party next , ledgo • night.
