[The Right Honourable Charles Cameron Kingston, k.C, H.C.C., M.P. for Adelaide, was horn at Adelaide in 1852 H« was articled to the law in the office of Chief Justice Way, and was called to the bar in 1873, and appointed Q.C. in 1889 Ho entered polities in 1831 as member m the Legislative Asseniblv, West Ade'aide and sat continuously till 1900, when he went on a special mission to England Subsequently ho sat U s M.L.C. until I'ederalion. Ik ;vas the author of many advanced legislative reforms and was leader of the Advanced Liberals. He helped to secure many reforms, including the extension of the 'franchise to women, factory legislation piogressive taxation, a State hank, and was the author of a scheme of industrial conciliation. He was largely instrumental in drawing up the Federation proposals, and was chosen Minister for Trade and Customs in the Commonwealth Cabinet in 190.1. He resigned, owing to ill-health in 1903]
MR J. H. YOUNG. SYDNEY, May 11. Mr J. 11. Young, an ex-Minister of the Crown, a .nd formerly Speaker of the State Assembly, is dead. [The Hon. Jamos Henry Young was bom in England in 1834, and went to Australia in 1802. He was elected to the N.S.YV Legislative Assembly in 1680, and sat almost, continuously, hoklini? portfolios in several Ministries.
