FASTING AS A CURE.

SIH,-I havo just sson an extract from a letter ito your paper from a correspondent who gives an account, of his cure from [ influenza by fasting. I have not seen tho original, eo .do not know whether your correspondent gave his name, but if this should meet his eye. I should be glad if he would _ communicate with me. I have becn'tryms to mako known this new gospel of universal health for over three years, and it is quite refreshing to meet with .someone working on similar lines ilour correspondent got over his influenza y«T qmckly, and if others who may try tho fasting euro" do not get on so quickly, I W ould say do not be disheartened. I had an a(taek o[ j T ,n 11&ilza . )ast November, for which I fasted M£ days. I did not go to bed, but kept about my work all tho time, except that on the last three days, having a headache, I lay down ■m tho afternoon. I. think now that if I had gone to bed, as your correspondent "id, for a few days I should probably have got over my attack quicker than I did. Of course, it is quite possible that my attack may have been more severe than his. My plan had the advantage that I was able to attend to business all the time. As a contract to this, an inmato of my house had influenza about the samo time. He would not hear of fasting, but rebed on doctor and medicine. He was m bed for several days and waa absent from his business for 10 days. Mr Haskell, the writer of "Perfect Health," tells me that on one occasion his wifo fasted 18 days for influenza, and kept about her work all tho time.

I would say to your correspondent that if he will look into the matter ho will bnd that fasting not only cures influenza, but all other disoascs, and that thoso. who will learn to regulate their living habits correctly need never have any disease. I enclose you copy of an articlo which I contributed /to tho Wangantii Chronicle a few months ago, on the fasting cure, and I should bo glad if you could find space for it. You will see that the- system is woll racked up by American doetons— I am, p| ?"
