RIFLE SHOOTING.
THE TRENTIIAM MEETING. (Pis United Press Association.) WELLINGTON, December 14. The programme for tho New Zealand Rifle Association meeting at I'rentham in Ma rob next -was issued to«la.y. There will be the same number of matches as at the last meeting. The championship prizes are increased from £50 to £50. The pull of the trigger will be 51b, instead of 61b. A match for rifle clubs has been introduced. It will be fired simultaneously with tJio Volunteer Match, and the ranges will be 200, 600, and 800 yards. There will also bo in connection with this match a Teams Match, 20 men a-side, between Volunteers and rille club men, for a prize of £20, presented by tho Hon, 11. Gilmer. The sizo of the target at 200vds has been altered in accordance with the'new Bisley rule—viz., the bull's eye will be 6in, inner 15in, nuigpio 24in, outer the remainder of the target. The executive hn6 decidcd to allow the use of the new wind gauge 6lide as authorised by the War Office. No other gauge will be_ allowed. The 700 yds range lias boon, abolished.
