CRUSH BY A TREE.

FATAL ACCIDENT.

(Pitt United Press Association.) WHANGAREI, August 15. An accident which resulted fatally occurred to Edward Crouchcr, unmarried, 30 years of age, at Whatitiri. He with hie brother was engagod cross-cutting a tree, and took charge of the saw. As the tree was about, to fall bis brother got away clear, but on looking round saw Edward pinned to the ground, with the tree lying across his body. Great difficulty was experienced in liberating .the unfortunate man. Both logs were bajlly broken and severe internal injuries wero sustained. He was conveyed to the Whangarei Hospital, where he died aji hour later." Deceased's parents live in England, whence Croucher camo 10 years ago.
