STATEMENT BY AN EXPERT. (Pie United Press Assocutioh.) CHRISTOTTURCH, July IT. George builder, giving evidence as an expert in the matter ot mantelpieces, said that the majority wero manufactured by specialists, out there was always a'largo supply itvaikblo at tho ironmongers. Theso were marbled and grained, and wero mado by Chinair.cn in Australia. Mr Simpson added that kauri , rubbish was sent over there, worked up by Chinese, and then sent back to compete against tho work turned out in New Zealand.
