The special Conciliation Board sot up to inquire into the demands of the Auckland slaughtermen resumed sitting this morning, when evidence in support of the master butchers' counter proposals was given. In opening tho case for the employers, Mr Grosvenor said he felt convinced that already the board had amplo evidence bofore it to arrive at a satisfactory conclusion. He did not propose to examine witnesses', at great length. ■Tamos Binstoad, master butcher, siid ho had occupied that'position for 25yca,r$. He had also done slaughtering. Ho did not consider it was dangerous work. He had not known of a-ny disease eontraoted by slaughtering.

Other witnesses gave similar evidence and tho matter was further adjourned.
