SUPPOSED BOATING FATALITY.

MR C. W. lIAEVEY BLOWN OUT TO

Considerable anxiety is felt by (he relatives and friends of Mr C. W. Harvey, tho Well-known sharebroker, who, it is feared, Ims been blown oiifc to sea. Sir Harvey was paying a visit io the Akatoro' district,' partly on business and partly for pleasure, and was to liavo returned to Dunedin on Tuesday night or yesterday morning. Yesterday, however, our Milton correspondent advised that Mr Harvey left Akatoro Boach about 2 p.m. on Tuesday ill a. small open-boat, which had belonged to the Marguerite Mirahaud, in order to go 1o Taieri Dwell. At 4.30 p.m. ho was seen about 10 miles our by Mr Smith, ono of tho purchasers of the cargo of. tho Marguerite Mirabautl, and was judged by him to have lost control of the host, which was then heading for the Nuggets. A small lug-sail was hoisted in the boat. Tho night was a rough one, and it is feared ihat unices he was able to make the shore tho boat may liavo been sw.nnpcd.

Later on it was ascertained that communication by telephone with the Nuggets bad been obtained, but the lighthousekeeper had seen nothing of Mr Harvey or tho boat containing him. 'l'he presumption is that Mr Ilarvey was making for Taieri Mouth in order to eatch the train at Henley for Dunedin.
