During the progress of the yacht race at Kiel Hew Tietgin's yacht, from Hamburg, blanketed the Kaiser's yacht Meteor. The Kaiser ordered him to' clcar away, and afterwards lodged a protest with the Impel ial \acht Club, which dismissed tho protest. The Kaiser was offended, and refused to distribute the prizes.
