ACCOUNTANT STUDENTS' SOCIETY.
The fortnightly meeting of the society was held last evening in the Chamber of Commerce. 'Mr James Brown (president) was in tho chair, and there was a good attendance of members.
The evening was to have been devoted to a discussion on tho October examination, papers of the Incorporated Institute of Accountants of New Zealand, In the two hours allotted it was, however; impossible to deal with tlie wliolo oi the questions set for the examination, so 14 papers of interest to students and intending candidates for accountancy honours were considered.' Members of tho society who bad sat in provious examinations dealt with the questions submitted, and members of the society generally took part in the discussion that followed. The evening was a highly interesting one, and tho knowledge acquired should be of considerable benefit to the younger students. Mr Brown in many instances gave the meeting the benefit of his extensive knowledge of accountancy work. f
Tlie next meeting of the society will be held on tho 16th inst., when Mr A. J. C. Brown will give a paper upon how to read a balance sheet.
