(Per United Pjiess Association.) NEW PLYMOUTH, July 2. Tho Supreme Court jury again failed to agrco in tho case in whieh Fontenalla. is charged with the theft of £40 from the. Coronation Hotel, Eltham. _ Accused was liberated on his own rccognisancc of £200 to appear on trial when called upon. In the Divorce Court an order for the restitution of conjugal rights was made in the case of Taylor v. Taylor, a husband's petition.
NELSON, July 2.
At the court to-day two fruiterers, one a Chinaman, were charged under the Health Act with exposing and selling specked oranges, whi.eb had been bought by tlic department's inspector. The Magistrate saiil it was only a trivial breach of the act, as some'of the oranges were quite good inside. A conviction was recorded, the accused being ordered to come up for sentence when called upon.
lIOKITIKa' July 2. Yesterday afternoon, owing to a misunderstanding as to the time for hearing between counsel for defendant and the magistrate, the latter agreed to a rehearing o[ the charge against Chinn in connection with tho Rarangarua fatality. Evidence was taken and judgment reserved.
