"HOUSEHOLDER'S" MISSTATE MENTS.

Sik,—ln your issue of Saturday last a writer signing himself " Housdholdor" accuses mo wrongfully for the way I conducted" (ho Householders' Mooting. I emphatically deny that I ran tho whole show, or t-nat tho meeting was scandalous for ite irregtdaritiffi in any. way as described by " Householder." Ho goes on to 6ay that after tbo roport and balance sheet were rca<j a householder prooecded to make some favourable comments on tho report and balanco sheet and tho committee's year's work, but was quickly called to order l>y the chairman. This is an untruth, pure and simple, as I giivo him plenty of latitude to compliment tho outgoing committeo on their year's work, hut I most certainly called him to order for his rambling suggestions, to the incoming committee, who, I thought, should be allowed to use their own judgment in their capacity as members of the School Committee.

Tho statement; that I Tcfused to accept any more nominations ;. f tor tho sevonth name was mentioned is equally untrue, and I am satisfied every man who was at tho meeting will bear 1110 out in this, except tho writer of the false letter. In fact, I had considerable trouble to get the re-: quired number. M a matter of fact, when tho seventh nomination was scoured, I delayed some little time, in the hope of some moro householders putting in an appearance to enable me to get some nominations. Ono gentleman did arrivo, but declined. I do believe overy eligible man in the room was nominated but declined, except tho seven, whom I had to declaro duly elected. As to the last part of " Householder's" letter —his fceblo pro- ' tests re infants, etc.,—it is quito in keeping with the rest of his false and malicious epistle. However, all is well that ends well. I lionesllv think there should bo a taw to protect people from such unscrupu lous beings.—l am, etc., Chairman of Hooseholdehs' Meeting. • Dunbaek, May 1.

Sir,—ln your paper, dated April 21, among the " Letters to the Editor " is one headed " Householders'. Meeting at Dunback," and signed "Householder." Surolv malice, or something worse, must have moved " Ilousoholdor" to writo such a letter. The statements it contains aro so far from the truth that I could hardly credit my senses after reading it. I hono someone moro interested will refuto the 'statements, and expose tho writer.—l am, etc., Householder No. 2. Dunback, May 2.
