Mails close at the Chief Post Office, Dun. edin, as under: —

Overland, Northern Ports, Christchurcli, and intermediate offices, daily, 0.30 a.m. Late letters, 7.40; also oil tile mail vail up to 3 a.m. For Second Express for Palmerston, OnmnTu, Waimate. Timaru, Ashburton, Christchurch, at 12.45 p.m. For Grevmctith, Hokitika. and Reeftou, Monday, Wednesday, and Friday, at 12.45 p.m.

For South Express Trains at 7.30 a.m. and 5 p.m.

Correspondence for the United Kingdom need not be specially addressed via Melbourne.

Money orders close at 4 p.m., registered letters at 5 p.m. on the Ist.
