AUCKLAND, April 24.

Mr Ecttlo, S.M., gave judgment in the case. Charles Wilson, moionnan on an electric Irani, charged with manslaughter by killing Chadcg lluxtable. The magistrate said the question wns whether defendant, took reasonable precaution and exercised reasonable care to avoid danger. The 'act that tho car skidded 44 yards to 50 yards alter the emergency brake liad been used showed that it was travelling at a ccnsiderab!e speed. Defendant practically admitted ho knew tlm greasy state of this part of the line, and it was hie duty to exercise particular care. Evidence for the prosecti- ; tion was that, tho car was travelling at a j high speed. He was therefore of opinion ! that- the ease should go to a jury. Accused | was committed for trial, 'and bail was : allowed.
