DUCK-SHOOTING.
Sir,—Referring to a letter in today's issue oil, " Duck-shooting on AYaipori I-ake," signed by the president of the Ota;.;o ("Jun Sportsmen's Association, I am, as a. (hick shooter with 30 odd' years' cxpcricure, of opinion tliat t!ic O.G.S.A. fills a. long-felt- want. I have read its prosrectus, and shall at onco bocoma a momher. This association, working in accord with the Gun Club and Acclimatisation Socicty, would make duck-shooting ?- "joy for ever." Its aims, with slight modifica* iion, must appeal to all true lovers of gun snort. One paragraph of Mr Rittclicson's letter, however, requires some explanation—i.e., whore ho says " there arc too many restrictions 011 the mongrel sportsman." This can hardly bo put down lis a " printer's error," hut, after perusing the rules of the association, I think that " not sufficient" were the words intended to have been written by him. Yon have always' advocated clean sport, so please help this young, though vigorous, association to assume its proper status in the sporting world,—l am, ctc,, GUX SrOBTSHAK.
