MORXIXGTON ASSOCIATION CT,UB. . The nineteenth annual meeting of the Morhinglon Association Football Club wue hold in tho Morhington Council Chambers.. There was a largo muster of members, Mr T. Sneddon occupying tho chair, wliilo Mr .1. F. Arnold, M.H.K., and Mr J. Annand were also present. Mr Arnold, in moving tho'adoption of tho report and balance sliect, referred io tho achievements of the various' elevens, and' complimented the club on tho success attained in the field, and said that front, present appearances thero did not worn' to' be any tendency to go back but rather to grow more prosperous.. He was pleased to see such a good membership, and congratulated the club on being ivblo to place six teams in the field. It was also, very satisfactory to have a credit balance.. Ho also , referred to tho unselfishness displayed by. encouraging football in the schools.' 1 lf_ tho standard of play was to bo raised it was an absolute necessity in the advancement of tlio Association' game to have a good ground, and he was, glnd to see that the matter of ground improvement was being strongly taken up, If the senior team wislicH to become- premiers'! it. must pay strict attention to training, and ho expressed bis approval in regard to obtaining a. good<. training hall. ' ; Mr J. Annand, in seconding the motion, afforded tho matter of improvement to ground his most hearty support, and also. tendered his advico and assistance. • Tlio report and balance sheet (the latter showing a, credit balance of over £5) were adopted. . ./'. Seventeen new members were elected. The\followiii{j office-bearers wore elected: President, Mr J. F. Arnold, M.H.1 , ,, (reelected); vice-presidents—Messrs T. Sneddon, J. Annand, A. Malhews, S. P. Martin, and J. C.Seel.vo; secretary, Mr R. Notmiin: treasurer. Mr D. Anderson; nractice captain. Mr E. Jack; fjenornl Committee—Messrs A. Gardner, .T. Haig, D. Baillie. F. Airey. G. Notman; Selection Committee-Messrs H. Grenfell. G. Hickey, and D. Baillie; delegates to O.F.A.—Messrs •J. F. Arnold and A. Gardner (the latter tobo the club's representative on'the executive) ; delegate to A.A. Protection Association, Mr B. Renfrew; Admission QommitK. Harrington; G. Holiertson, and 11. Grenfell: auditor, Mr A. Mathews.
It was dccidwl to open tlm season on April 6, owing , to the ground being siill engaged for cricket, although it was pointed out.that in view of tho proposed -visit to Tihiai'u at Easter practice would require to start immediately, . \ The Chairman then made a presentation, on behalf, of the members, 'to tho secretary, (Mr R. Notmanl and treiuiurcr ((Mr D, '' Anderson), and paid a tribute to theee two officers for the manner in which their' respeotivo duties' had been carried out' during the year. Mr Emslio explained at some length' the : improvements, done to tho grounds under tho control of tho Ota-go Football Associa- ■ tion. ' . A'otes of thanks wore accorded to the, chairman, Mr J.
