SCHOOL COMMISSIONERS OP OTAGO.

Tho monthly meeting of tho School Commissioners of Otago, held yesterday afternoon, was attended by Messrs W. Dallas (chairman), T. Mac Gibbon, D. Borrie, John Hay, and tho Hon. K. FoMwick. An application from J. H. Sadlicr for 1, a yearly lease of sections 1, 2, 3 of 42, block VI, Inrcrcugill Hundred, at as per acre, was granted, the applicant to pay value :for fencing. ' A report was received from the ranger regarding damago threatened to section 1 of 102, Taringatura, by the Oreti River.—County Council to'bo reminded of promised vote of £31 for river protection, and to be asked when and how it proposed to expend the same. An application was received from 11. P. Blatcli, on behalf of Mrs E. M. A. Bla-tch (lessee of runs 301b and 301 c Tβ Anau) for consent to erect boundary lence at a cost of £100.—Application granted. A letter was received from the Commissioner of Crown Lands, Invcrcargill, asking on what terms the commissioners . would surrender their rights over about 275 seres of land on run SOln, Te Anau, for scenic purposes.— Exchange agreed to on condition that tho area to bo given to tbe commissioners be at the rate of four acres to one. Tho Hangar and Commissioners reported on damage being done by the\*Win!on Drainage Beard to section 34, block VII, Vinton Hundred.—Agreed to grant pound for poimd subsidy on an expenditure not over £10. An application was received from Robert Blytli, lessee of section 0, block VI, Glenomaru district, for grass seed to re-sow upwards of 40 acre 3 destroyed by fire.—Consideration deferred. Macalisler "Rros. wrote on behalf of Mrs Blatch (bst-M of runs 301b and 301 c. To Anau, asking if tho commissioners would agree to her selling flax on the mils.—Agreed to allow tenant to dispose of flax on condition that commissioners received half royalty. _ John Milne wrote forwarding an application from James and "William Kyle for coal licenso over three acres on block XXI, Wcndon.— Agreed to if found not to interfere with cxistin;? rights. The following applications for consent- to transfer were agreed to on the usual con-ditions-.-Lease of section 3 of 37, Nock 111, Hillend district, W. S. Pilhvns and E. P. Konyon to W. S. Pillans: from Charlotte Blackmail, section 1, block VIII. East Winton to Thomas E?erton; from T. O. M'Oill. section l of 29, Mock XII, Jacobs River Hundred, !o Francis Watson M'Gill: block XIII Wendon, G. Taylo,i to Samuel Walker; section 23. lilock V, Core, J. P. Buchanan to Isabella Reid; C. Carnie (o C. Hunter, section 6. block X, Wyndbani; John Crosbie to Chas. section 3, block 111. Wyudham. The Secretary laid a list of arrears of rent due for one year and over, up to May 1, 1907, bciore tho commissioners.—lt was resolved that it be a general instruction to the secretary to onforce payment of all arrears of rent. Accounts amounting to £103 7s Cd were passed for payment.
