MESSRS COSSENS AND BLACK'S PICNIC.

Tho employees of Messrs Cossens and Black, together with their wives, families, ami, friends, to the number of 250—which was increased to about 500 by the advent of the local Maori population,—held their anminl picnic at the iCaik. The children were well catered for during the day, there being plenty of toys and sweets for them all. There was also an abundance of fruit, lemonade, etc., for everyone. During the day an extensive sports programme was gone through, and at" the conclusion tho prizes veto presented to the successful competitors by T. K. Sidey, M.H.R.
