A REGATTA ABAXDOXED. (Pep. United Pbess Association.) ' . • NAPIER, March 18. Owing to lack of interest in rowing circles it has been decided to 'abandon the proposed Napier regatta at Easter, although promises of support havo been received from many outside clubs.

COXGREGATIOXAL HARRIERS.' A well attended meeting of the young men connected with the Congregational churches in Dunedin and suburbs was held last evening in the Moray Place Church Hall to consider a proposal to form a, harrier amateur athletic club. The meeting was a direct outcome of tie recent Congregational sports, and prior to the consideration of the establishment of the proposed club the shield competed for at the recent sports was presented by the Rev. G. Highway to tho winners, the Moray Place Church team. The Chairman, the Rev. W. Saunders, then spoke of the proposal to form a. harrier club, and it was unanimously decided that a club bo formed, the title to bo the " Congregational Harrier and Amateur Athletic Club." It was decided that the club colours be a dark blue jersey with white sash and dark blue knickers. It was also decided that tho club should affiliate with tho X.Z.A.A.A. and the Otago Centre of that body. Over 20 names were taken as activo members, and it is .expected that this number will bo substantially increased. x Mr Mavryatt (president oi (he Otego Centre) spoke, congratulating those present on the formation of tho cub, which ho wished, on bshalf of the centre, a very successful career. He impressed upon' members the necessity, if the club was to bo the success it should be, of every one putting his shoulder to tho wheel and working for the good of the whole club. The election of officebearers resulted as follows, all being elected unanimously. -President, Mr P. Barr; vice-presidents-Messrs P. G. Cray. Joseph Abernethy, J. Harrison Jones, H. Y. Widdowson, S.M., and Dr Evans; lion, secretary. Mr A. Hcighway: hon. treasurer, Mr L. Lodge; com-mittee-Messrs Charles Ateraethv, T. P. Lam-ensou. \V. H. Xichol, J. Graot, aud A. Burmvrd. The oleelion of captain and deputycaptain was postponed to the day of tile opening run.

CRICKET. The Second Grade match Carisbrook D v. Opoho was played at Carisbrook, and resulted' in a win for the former by 77 runs. The scores were:—Carisbrook ISS (Poster SI Sconlnr 4G, Fenwick 23); Opoho 10S (Jenkins 28, Muiiro 20, not out). De Lautour (Carisbrook) aud Jenlrins {Opoho) were the most successful bowlers.
