CENSUS INDUSTRIAL STATISTICS.

BOOT AND SHOE FACTORIES. The total value of all manufactures as brought out is £501,065 for 1905. Tho output from the factories duriiifr 1305 was 1.031,644 pairs of boots and shoes, 89,378 pairs of slippers, and 38.410 pairs of uppers. During 1905 boots and shoerlo the value of £282,211 were imported into the colony. Of this amount £209,545' represents the value of British manufacture and £72,666 foreign, including United R.tales of America £61,340. All these were subject . to a duty of per cent. ad. valorem, and the foreign manufacture 1o additional duty under the preferential tariff.of 11$ per cent.
