Robert Burke and Alfred Drisooll escaped on Saturday from tho gaol works at Shelly Bay, and were captured at 4.30 o'clock this morning on Ihe steamer Wakjnui, lyins at Taranaki street wharf. She was timed to leave for London at an early hour, and detectives and warders searched her' before she left, finding the prisoners hiding behind a boiler. Tlio Jieti wore brought before tho court, and upon tho charge of escaping Driscoll was sentenced to six months' imprisonment and Burke to three months.
