Act a now regulation is gazetted relating to the allowance to be paid lo leachers retiring on account, of ill-health. Under this regulation the tola! annual allowance is 16 lin computed as follows:—In. cafe the contributor, although medically unfit for further duty, is shown by the certificates ej two medical practitioners approved by IhiT board to be otherwise in good health, then the present value of the total annual allowance shall bo deemed to lie the present value of the Annual allowances at 4 per centum pen annum on the basis of Dr Parr's life tabic of tlio healthy districts of England for males or females, according to trie sex of tlio contributor, or by such other tables as aro used from time, to time by the actuary in valuing liabilities under the act; but ,in all other cases the present value of tlio total annual allowance, shall lie deemed to be the total amount of his contributions without interest.
