DUNEDIX AMATEUR ATHLETIC CLUB.
A meeting of the Sports Committee of. tho Dunedin Amateur Athletic Club was held last evening at the office of "the secretary (Mr J. T. Hamann). Progress was reported in connection with tho twenty-second 'annual sports meeting of the club to bo held at tho Caledonian Ground on Saturday, lGth February, and satisfaction was expressed at the forwardness of matters'in connection with the meeting. The preliminary programmes have been circulated throughout New Zealand, and it is anticipated that this year's meeting wilt be the finest athletic gathering ever hold in Dunedin. The team to represent Otago at the New Zealand championships: will compete at the meeting prior to going to Christchurch, and word lias been received that tlio Southland 'team will also be competing at the D.A.A.C. meeting. M'Lachlan from Clinton), Pittaway (from 'ArrowtownJ, Fxaser (from Lawrence), and many otlior country representatives aro coming to Duiiedin for the D.A.A.C. annual sports.
A NEW ZEALAND SCULLER. A Sydney message states that Arnst finished second to S. Pearce, who conceded him lOsec, in "tlio All-comers' Sculls. Pearce won by a length. Arnst-, who rows a powerful stroke, lias, in the opinion of critics, much to learn.
Nominations for the Talnuia Park Trotting Club's autumn meeting on February 22 and 27 will c'.ose at 9 p.m. to-morrow.
