Hairy Franoia, solicitor, appeared before Ml Bishop, S.M., this mominE to answer several charges of converting clients' monej to his own übb. There, were four charge* bating to sums belonjfins; to Mr James Henry Thomas—viz., £160 on or about July 3, 1899; £200 in April 1894; £75 in September 1903; and £100 in September. 1905. The accused was undefended. 'Hie accused pleaded "Guilty," and was remanded to the Supremo Court for senttjuce Accused was further elmrged with stealing mid eum of £100 and one ot £200, the property of Joseph Smith, the datee being on Maroli, 1905, and February, 1906. Tho accused pleaded " Guilty " to this charge also, and wan committed to f.ho Supremo Court lor sentence, Tho Magistrate granted bnil-accused in £501) a.nd taro sureties of £250 eaoh.
