ACCIDENTS AND FATALITIES.

AUCKLAND, December 18. A telegram which has been received front Port Albert states that Esther ilarjorie Worker, aged lb, ihe eldest daughter of Mr X. A. Worjcer. of Wcllsford, was drowned while bathing in tho Wcllsford Creek At tho inquest tho jury returned a verdict of accidental death, no blame being attachable to anyone. WELLINGTON, December 18. Tho coroner'.-! inquiry into the circumstances of tho death of Dora Florence, who was killed by being run down by a locomotive last Friday, was concluded to-day, The jury found that death was accidental, but added a rider expressing tho opinion that no greattr speed than four miles an hour should be attained bv any locomotive over level crossings in any town. Henry Smith, a blacksmith, employed by Mr J. ]{, Mitchell, King street, was shoeing a. horse yesterday, when it kicked liini on the head. He was removed to tho Hospital. It is said his injurie.-, are not serious.
.tames Garden, jtm., a storekeeper at Waiwei'a, committed sti:eide at Clinton yesterday morning by cutting his throat. An itiquest was to tic held.
