THE LOYAL ORANGE CHURCH SERVICE.

The Loyal Orange Lodge of Duncdin held its annual church service and parade on Sunday. Tlio brethren met in large numbers at (lie Choral Hall at 2 o'clock, amongst whom wove mcmbcis of the Protestant Alliance, and tho Protestant Dcfenco Association. One Orangeman. Bro. Lirabam. who is over 70 years of age. walked from Port Chalmers so as io ho present at. the church service and parade. 1'.0.M. Bro. A. (Jreig addressed the brethren at the Choral Hall, and Bro. iT. Fin Jay, W.M., informed Ihe brethren that tho Royal Black Preceptory were holding a. church pcrvice in the \Vc*loya.n Churoh, South Dniicdin, on Sunday. August 12. The brethren, headed hy the Dnuedin Pipo Band, then marched to tho Salvation Army Hall, where a large number assembled, Bro. Major dimming and the Rev. Bro. .Scotlor jointly conducting the service, assisted by the Army band and the Roslyn Church choir. Bro. Major dimming heartily- welcomed tho brethren to the hall. Ilp said lie was an Orangeman, and was proud of it. The Major then read Iho qualifications of an Orangeman, and exhorted tho brothers to act up to those qualifications. The Rev. Bro. Scott er delivered an address in which he dealt with tho struggle for liberty which resulted in King William 111 being placed on the throne asking not by right, of birth, but by act- of Parliament and the will of the people. At the conclusion of the addresses the Salvation Army band played a selection, altar which tho procession was reformed, and. headed by the Pipe Band, tho brethren marched hack to the Choral Hall, where votes of thanks wore passed to tho Salvation Army for the' use, off'tho hall, to the Pipe Band, and to Major Cummins and tho Rev, Jlr Seotter.
