HARRIERS.

The Dunediu Club had a muster of 20 members for its run from All Saints' Schoolroom on Saturday. Moore and Butler were the hares, and laid a trail along Cumberland street, up Duke street, through the Woodhaugh Reserve, and through Irishtown. The reservoir was reached and circled, and a run was made towards Maori Hill, where tho road was struck and followed to the top of Dundas street and then home. Tho country was. of course, very muddy, but as no rain fell a great deal of enjoyment was extracted from the run. The members were a forwards entertained by two clubmalcs, and a very enjoyable hour wa.s spent in musical items. The club is greatly indebted to the warden of Selwyn College for kindly placing at the disposal of tho runners, after such a muddy run, tho mucli-neerled use of a shower-bath. The Cavcrsham Harriers held a very enjoyable run from the residence of Mr ,T. Brown, their vice-president. Owing to the slippery nature of the ground over Green Island a. few spills occurred. After the run members were entertained by Mr Brown in good style. Tho captain thanked their host for his kindness and also for his great

help to the club. After a short musical programme iho members withdrew after a most enjoyable outing.

Although (lie rain held! oil' remarkably well; yet slow progress was made in tin- cross-cgiuitry running owing to the very slippery nature of the ground, and slips and falls were q-uitc the order of the day. Arriving back at the schoolroom plenty of hot water was found to remove all I rare* of the run, and then the memliers partook of Ilie good things so kindlv prothe Rev. and Mrs Harding. In the absence of the captain the secretary ' acknowledged the kindness of the host anil hostess.
