(Fkok Ocb Own Cop.rksposdkxt.) OAMARU, April 15. A (air amount of business was done in the early part of the wed;, mid the market shows a somewhat firmer feeling for both wheat and outs. The pales of wheat include a. line of .1200 sacks of Tuscan and velvet, in nearly equal 'quantities, at 3s at country stations, less commission, find another of 1250 socks of Tuscan, velvet, and red chaff in about equal proportions at the tame figure. Tuscan has been Eold in straight lines at 3s and 3'a Id. and velvet at 2s lid and 3s. for prime and 2h 3d for medium milling. These prices indicate a siight advance in values, and the same applies lo veil chaff, which i? scarce and in demand for mixing piirpo.se?. Sales have been m:u!o at 2s lOd, 2s lOJil. and 2s lid, while for one special parcel of '100 sacks 3s was obtained. The above (.ales are _nlt_ at country stations and subject to commission. Tuscan has also been bought at 3s, delivered in ■ towii net, and of velvet at 2s lid on similar terms. Seconds wheat hai been qU"trd at 2s Oil at country stations, and fowl wheat at 2s lOid f.o.b. The demand for oats continues good, and s>. fair volume of business has been done, chieflv iii (lartons, which have been sold at from'is 7Jd to la 8!d. Danish and Duns are still Fcarco. but sales have been made at Is 7d to Is 7Jd for Danish and at Is ?<1 to Is M for Duns. Barley of only medium quality has hec:i sold nt'3s td at country stations. Cocksfoot has sold at 31d to -Id per lb, and rye corn nt 3s, delivered.
Potatoes have been sold at £8 10s net at country stations, and for shipment north at fill f.0.1).
CLEARIXC. SALE AT MACRAES. Messrs Wright, Stephenson, and Co. (Ltd.) report having held a successful Faie at Mr John Phelan's homestead at Macraes on Thursday. 12th inst. As it was well known throughout the district that the farm had been sold, and that in eonsoqiitrce everything would be for absolute sale, a lf.tge number of buyers came from miles around, intent on business, with the result that bidding was animated, and prices realised were highly satisfactory.
The Kuanelm. which left Wellington for London on' Thursday, took 15.013 boxes of ImUer and 4.T0 of cheese. Tho butter include" over 8000 cases from New Plymouth, SOW from Wellington, ami 3000 from Patea. The bulk of the cheere. over 2COO boxes, is fiom the Bluff, and 1400 boxes sire from Wellington.
