EGG-LAYING COMPETITION.
(Per United Press Association.) BLENHEIM, March 17. The lotal for the forty-sixth week of the Now Zealand Egg-laying Competition is 1406, making tho grand aggregate 81,743 and the weekly average per pen 14.26. Tho highest layings for the week wore:—Snodgiass (black Orpingtonsl, Masterton, 26; Mrs Griffiths (silver Wyandottos), Blenheim, 26; Alexandra- Poultry Company (white Plymouth Rocks), 25; Miss Murphy (rowcoml) black Orpingtons). Blenheim. 24; Chick Friddles (white Leghorns), Blenheim, 24; Jonathan Hodson (whits leghorns), Blenheim. 24. The order of merit in the grand aggregates run as follows, the first five pens bcincr white Leghorns: —H. Leger, Levin, 1207:' Marlboromrh A. and P. Association, 1114; Brooke. South Australia., 114?.: Jonathan Hodson, Blenheim, 1141; Miss Mirk Shaw. Blenheim. 1128: Hookey (brown Leghorns), Nelson, 1W!. The main feature of the week is (hat the A. and P. Association's pen has passed Brooke's, and gained second place.
