THE WOOL SALES.

The fourth and last series of the Dunedin wool sa'cs for the season was held on Thursday, March 1, when 1770 bales were offered. Owing to the lateness of the season most of the wools forward for this auction were more or less " seedy." and in consequence had not the same attractive appearance as clisps shorn earlier in the year. Despite this fact, the sales were most spirited, and values showed an all-round advance on those ruling at the previous series. Following are a few of the best prices:-— .Merino.—Messrs Kaiu Bres. (Argyle). 40 bales first combing merino Is; Waipoii, 1 hale first combing lid. Halfbred.--Argyle, 2 bales halfbred Is id; C in Triangle over Moa Flat, 3 bales B halfbred Is, 1 A halfbred lUd, 3 C halfbred 11-d; Hukarero, " bales first halfbred ewe Is, 2 first do hogget lUd, 4 second do owe 11 Jd, 4 do hogget lid; D, 1 bale halfbred 11 Jd; 7A conjoined, 1 bale halfbred HJd; Bar over OT over Moj Flat Downs, 1' bale A combing haltbred lid; IMC 1 bale halfbred lid. Crossbred.—GE, 1 bale crossbred hogget Hid; C in Triangle over Moa Flat, 1 bale B crossbred Hid. 1 A do lid; \VB conjoined (red), 1 bale crossbred lid; Bar over OT over Moa Flat Downs, 1 bale A and B crossbred lid; V inverted over H, 1 bale crossbred lid; Hukarere, 4 bales first cross ewe lid.
