CELEBRATIONS THROUGHOUT THE EMPIRE. Press Association—By Telegraph—Oopyright. LONDON, October 21. (Received October 22, at 4.30 p.m.) Tho wreaths sent by New Zealand, the Commonwealth, and Queensland to bo placed on the Nelson monument, were greatly admired. October 22. (Received October 23, at 0.52 a.m.) Great celebrations in honour of tho Millenary of Trafalgar were held throughout the United Kingdom and Empire. Bishop Wekloii conducted service at the foot of Nelson's Column, in Trafalgar square. There were 100 wreaths from all parts of the Empire. The attendance numbered 12,000, including the Agentsgeneral. Thousands thronged the square all day and evening, defiling past the column. Prince Edward of Wales and his brother in driving past halted and saluted. Hundreds visited Nelson's tomb in St. Paul's Cathedral.

There was a special ceremony aboard tho Victory.

Lord lirassey presided at a great meeting at the Albert Hall.

Lord Ranfurlv presided at the Navy League banquet. Mr Reeves, High Commissioner for New Zealand, proposed " Tho Memory of Nelson."

Tho British and Foreign Sailors' Society presented the French municipal representatives with a piece of oak from the Victory in memory of France's brave sailors at Trafalgar. . This produced an excellent impression. Admiral Togo received a deputation and address from the British Navy League.

THE COMMONWEALTH. SYDNEY, October 21. (Received October 21, at 9.31 a.m.) Trafalgar Day was celebrated v«sterctoy in Queensland, South Australia, 'and Tasmania. It was celebrated in New South Wales to-day, and special sermons will be lieid in the churches to-morrow.

October 22. (Received October 23, at 1.4 a.m.) Tho Trafalgar centenary celebrations throughout tho Commonwealth wore mainly characterised by a plentiful display of bunting. Tho groat grandson of Pascoc, who hoisted tho famous signal on the Victory, unfurled tho signal at a naval concert at tho lown Hali. During the evening (Japtain Hardy, nephew of the captain of the Victory, was presented to Admiral Fanshawe.

At Brisbane the grandson of Pascoe unfurled the famous signal at the United Service Institution.

At Melbourne the Caulfield Cup overshadowed tho Trafalgar celebration, though various demonstrations were, hold in tho evening. Commemoration of the entente cordialo was in evidence by a general intertwining of the Union .jack ivith the tricolour.
