SIR H. IRVING'S FUNERAL

Press Association—By Telegraph—Copyright LONDON, October 20. (Received October 21, at 9.6 a.m.) There was a splendid choral service at the Abbey. Enormous crowds lined the route. Trumpets and drums joined in the playing of Mackenzie's "March," which was written when Irving produced Shakespeare's " G'oriolanus" at the old Lyceum Theatre. October 21. (Received October 22, at 4.30 p.m.) Sir Henry Irving's funeral was largely attended. Ilcr Majesty Queen, Alexandra sent a white cross inscribed, "For Henry Irving, With deepest regret." adding his last words spoken on the sUige. Lady Irving, with personal mourners, attended the funeral, and society, art, letters, and all professions were fully represented at the interment.
