VANDALISM ON THE ANDERSON'S BAY TRAMWAY.
TO THE EDITOR.
Sin,—Can nofiiing be done to prevent tin destruction of the permanent way of th( tramway along the Anderson's Bay road! It is really a very provoking sight to spo heavy carts loaded with, sand purposely driven along the tram track. Tho asphalt is now in deep ruts, and the edffcs of the Tails are being injiued. The road is quite passablo for traffic without trespass on tho tram line, and it appears to me that th« drivers arc actuated by a reckless desire to wantonly destroy city property. It is difficult to suggest but surely soma effort can be made to Save tho city this valuable property It will cost a considerable sum (o repair (he line, and the money so expended could be. otherwise spent on road maintenance elsewhere. Possiblv this has not occurred to tho thoiightle's drivers I see sifting, pipe in mouth, in a heap on a Joad nf "and grinding away tho tramway rails. tTnfortnmtelv. one cannot apneal to file greater intelligence of the patient animal between the shafts.—l am. etc., ' .
