TO THE EDITOR. Sib,—l am grateful to you for allowing your columns to bo opened to an appeal for funds in aid of tho voung Scotchman who is ill with consumption, and whose ca«o is a very deserving one. It is very urgent that he should bo provided with sufficient funds to enable him to get back < to Scotland, as ho is quite unablo to work and entirely without means. Mr Mahon and I have got together about £13, and we require about as much more to enable us to pay the necessary paasane money and give him a pound or two with him. Pro'bably the sympathetic members of the community will come forward and subscribe tho balance of the money we require, so that wo may be enabled to send tho_ unfortunate youhi»man away by the Ist .Tune.—l am, etc., May 19. . 0.
