PENINSULA ROAD BOARD.
The regular monthly meeting of tho Peninsuliv Road Board was held on. Saturday, and was attended by Messrs Walker (in tho chair), Reekie, Black, and Piobertson.—Dr Macdonnld reported a suspcctcd case of diphtheria in Anderson's Bay.—John Jury was reappointed surfaceman for the HigUcliiE subdivision.— Mr Rutherford wrote asking to have the roadi leading to his property metalled for four or five .chains. It was decided that tho request be granted when tenders were called for other metajs.—As regards the metal for Anderson's Bay road, it was dccidcd that the wholo matter be left to Mr Reekie, the metal to bo spread not les3 than 3'Jft in width.—Members lor each subdivision were requested to report) at next meeting as to the quantity of metal required.—Hall Bros, wrote asking to havo some repairs effected on the road leading from Seal Point. Ii was left to Mr Robertson to have the work attended to..—C. White wroto, on behalf of Mrs White, asking to have tho entrance at Centra finished. Mr Reekie was authorised to obtain the necessary metal required lor Mr T. Begg to complete tho work.— Mr Owen wrote stating that ho was anxious to widen the road in front of his property so as to erect his feme on the proper line, ant£ ho requested the hoard to reimburse him to the extent of half cost. On account of tlie state of the board's funds it was decided that the request could not bo granted.—The cleric was ■ instructed to publicly notify that too hoard intended at next meeting to make a general rate of three farthings in the poundl on all rateable property within, the Pininsuta road district for thu year onding illst Marcli, ISOU,
