SHOOTING COMPETITIONS.
HIGHLAND HIELES. On Saturday afternoon the Highland Rifles fired their first inatch of tlio season for a racial presented by Captain Dempster and two other prizes presented by tlio company. The conditions were: Seven shots and a sigliter at £00, 500, and 600 yards. The weather was very cold, with heavy rain showers and wind, which caused a considerable amount of troublo to competitors.
