CITY POLICE COURT.
Saturday, November 19. (Before Messrs J. Duthie and P. G. Prvde J.P's.) Drunkenness.—For this offence a first offender, who did not appear, was fined ss, with costs, or, in default, 21 hours' imprisonment. John Pringle, who did not appear, •was fined 20s, or, in default, seven days' imprisonment. Using Obscene Language—Eliza Switalli, charged with using ob?ccne language in a public place, was convicted and fined 60s, or, iu default, a month's imprisonment, and on a charge of drunkenness was lined os, with the usual alternative. Theft.—Henry Byron, who pleaded "Guilty" to the charge of stealing l u coat, valued at 6a 6d, the .property of Robert Nixon, was'fined 10s, or, iu default, seven days' imprisonment.— Margaret Livingstone Hannah, charged with tho theft at Oaverahaui on November 17 of three lady's collarettes; and also with drunkenness, was remanded tiH November 21.
