(Received June 3, at 10.55 a.m.) A deputation of ministers of the Presbyterian denomination waited on the Minister of External Affairs (Mr W. M. Hughes), and urged that Australasia, be represented in connection with the pro? posed Anglo-French Commission to settle .land disputes in the New Hebrides, arid, further, that native interests should be properly guarded.' The Minister said that the Federal Government would not hesitate to make representations to. ensure justice to the natives. If Australia could not be represented on the commission the Government was determineu that it would be advisable to appoint counsel to support the' claims of, any Australians before the commission. Tho Government was considering the question of improving the connect tion between the New Hebrides and Aus« tralia. by an increased mail service.
