BRISBANE, September 30. ' (Received Sept. 30, at 10 a.m.) The Assembly passed a bill re-enacting the present stamp duties. POLITICS. HOBART, September 30. (Received Sept. 30, at 10 a.m.) In the Assembly Mr Davies was elected Speaker. Tho Council recommitted the Income Tax Bill, thus ending the deadlock, and adjourned until to-day with a view to aconference with the Assembly. Mr Dobson/s term as Agent-general has been extended to 15 months. DEATH FROM PLAGUE. PERTH, September 30, (Received Sept. 30, at 10 a.m.) A Chinaman died of plague at Highgate Hill, a suburb of the city.
